Your Job Summary

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Site Supervisor prepares and monitors the physical development of a project from start to finish. They must also engage in administrative aspects of projects such as budget and scheduling maintenance. It is up to the Site Supervisor to thoroughly follow quality standards and ensure the safety and security of a worksite to the fullest of their ability. They will also act as a point of contact for external partners such as trade contractors & municipal building inspectors. To succeed at this position, the ideal candidate will ensure projects are staffed and regulated exceptionally. Projects are expected to be completed before deadlines with few to no deficiencies.

Your Responsibilities

  • Open and close site daily

  • Organize daily, weekly & monthly staff & trade contractor requirements per project docs.

  • All job site security

  • Ensures onsite compliance with safety, health and quality standards & that the job site remains safe, clean and orderly at all times.

  • Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp project workflow & technical requirements.

  • Plan all execution phase construction processes.

  • Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed.

  • Collaborate daily with field staff to prioritize and coordinate all onsite tasks.

  • Coordinate daily all onsite trade work per project requirements.

  • Coordinate daily all onsite equipment and material deliveries & installation.

  • Organize meetings to resolve contractor, plans & specification site conflicts.

  • Set performance goals and deadlines.

  • Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching.

  • Ensure staff and resources are adequate to meet schedule, specs & quality control.

  • Order required equipment and arrange for regular maintenance.

  • Regularly review project progress with the Project Manager.

  • Schedule inspections from local authorities & record them in files.

  • Track project inventory including stock and long lead orders.

Your Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience as a Construction Supervisor or in a similar role.

  • Thorough knowledge of local quality, safety and health for construction job sites.

  • Thorough understanding of construction operations and processes.

  • Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints.

  • Outstanding leadership skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills..

  • Organizational and time-management skills.

  • Well-versed in math.

  • Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot.

  • Required to follow safety guidelines at all times.

  • Good physical condition and stamina.

  • Worker shows investment in themselves and their trade.

  • First Aid is considered an asset.

  • Working at Heights is considered an asset.

  • Post-Secondary is considered an asset.

Your Working Conditions

At Laframboise Construction, we work during all seasons of the year. This can require working in the heat of the summer and cold in the winters. It is very irregular to work on a weekend unless deadlines or projects require it and we have the approval of the employee and customer.

Physical requirements

You will be required to lift objects up to 50lbs.
